Budget Wisely

I’m baaaccckkk! And this time, I brought a friend along!

Everybody say hello to Paula!!
We are currently on our way to yet another Scandinavian adventure. Our destinations? Stockholm, Sweden and Reykjavik, Iceland!

It’s gonna be a whirlwind seven day trip so hold onto your butts!

But first…

Lemme take a selfie

Let’s talk budget airlines.

We found a great deal with WOW Airlines. Miami to Stockholm to Reykjavik and back for under $400! Almost too good to be true, right?

Well…yes and no. Honestly, it all depends if you’ve done your research.

Know before you go!

  • Carry-on and checked bags are extra. This is becoming more and more common among airlines. You do get a free personal item about the size of a regular school backpack but you better believe that they will check the dimensions before issuing you your ticket. So double check!
  • No free food or drinks on board. Pack some snacks. Bring an empty water bottle and fill it once you’re past security. Though, as you can see from above, we sprang for the Icelandic beer.

  • We did not reserve our seats, but we wound up sitting next to each other. If you’ve got a party larger than two, consider spending the extra cash to make sure you are seated together.
  • Fun witty decals everywhere!

I’ve read up on a few blogs about WOW that labeled it as a “hit or miss” airline, but in this case, our flight is definitely a hit. Just because you’re on a budget airline, it doesn’t mean you will have a budget experience.
So go for it! I’ll see you in Stockholm.
